THE

ERWIN

ELEPHANT
REVIVAL

About

The Erwin Elephant Revival is a community festival being held in Erwin, Tennessee from September 22 and 23, 2017 and hosted by RISE Erwin in conjunction with the Town of Erwin and other area organizations.

In its second year, the festival will include a drama production from our local high school students, a luau fundraising dinner, and a downtown festival featuring elephant-themed fun for the entire family.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit The Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee. Our goal is for Erwin to become the largest community donor to the Elephant Sanctuary, and, instead of being known as the town that hung the elephant, we will be known for the support of elephants living their lives in a safe haven.

About
RISE ERWIN

RISE Erwin is a community-focused group of young professionals living and working in Unicoi County who seek to improve the community in which they live.

WHY THIS EVENT?

As the next generation of Erwin natives, we are tired of the stigma associated with the tragic hanging of Mary the Elephant. As a result, we are passionate about altering the association between Erwin and elephants. We seek to use this event as an opportunity for change.
